Its easy to offer guests or family members a choice of drip coffee or an espresso drink with this combination coffee/espresso maker. The Caffé Nero has separate controls and water tanks for each function, so you can brew drip coffee and espresso simultaneously. The coffee side has a patented Flavor Savor brewing system that fully saturates grounds and lets them steep for a while to draw out rich coffee flavors. A permanent gold-tone filter keeps even the finest grounds from sneaking through to a coffee cup and eliminates the need for buying paper filters. Using the dial on the top of the coffeemaker, you can adjust the coffees strength to personal preference. A separate button lets you choose between brewing 5 cups or less or from 6 to 10 cups and alters the heating element accordingly so smaller pots never taste burnt or overheated. The drip coffee side also has a 24-hour programmable timer that can be set each night to brew first thing in the morning and a "drip interrupt" feature, so you can pour a cup before the full pot is brewed. Coffee remains hot in the 10-cup glass carafe due to the Caffé Neros nonstick warming plate.

The espresso function starts up quickly without much advanced preparation and has two filter holders--one that uses ground espresso and another that uses coffee pods. The pod filter holder has a unique design that securely holds pods in place and makes disposal easy with a single touch of a button. The patented ground espresso filter improves upon the brewing process, which means espresso drinks always have a perfect crema. Cappuccino and latté lovers will be pleased with the exclusive chamber that mixes steam and milk into a delicious, creamy froth. Customer Review: Dont waste your money! Breaks or stops working in a month or so
I went through a few of these within a month of owning it. I received it damaged got a replacement and that one lasted less than a month then another and another and finally one worked for almost a year and that one broke too. You have to ship the unit at your expense every time as well and at 20+ pounds its expensive to ship and my closest place was a 2 hour drive. it doesnt make quality espresso at all its more like coffee even with premium beans that are ground just before brewing. Their customer service is useless as well they dont know anything about their units or making espresso. spend a couple hundred more and purchase a higher quality one that will last.

Although their coffeemakers do an excellent job of making coffee, DeLonghi WILL USE ANY EXCUSE NOT TO HONOR THE WARRANTY IF ANYTHING GOES WRONG! Here's my experience: When I ordered my coffeemaker from DeLonghi, it was "backordered" and took over a month to ship. A little over 10 months after I received it, the coffeemaker broke! (The heater coil went out and it would no longer make coffee.) Since it had been over a year since I ORDERED it, they said the one-year warranty was expired, despite the fact I had proof I had received it less than a year before (I still had the shipping confirmation). I explained this numerous times. For a couple of months, the various people I talked to kept telling me they would "look into it", but they never called back. Finally, when it actually WAS over a year since I had received the coffeemaker, when I called to check on the status of my warranty claim, they said, "Your warranty has expired. You've had this coffeemaker over one year. There is nothing we can do." I highly recommend you find a coffeemaker from a manufacturer that stands behind their product! I have a Cuisinart now, and it is WONDERFUL!
